We have trained special education students for bar/bat mitzvah on a number of occasions, and we have always tried to do so with patience, creativity and personal warmth.
After meeting with your child, and after listening closely to your goals and concerns, we might recommend one of a number of courses for your child. We might suggest private instruction exclusively, or private instruction in conjunction with classroom learning.
On certain days "...we have a learning specialist..." in learning-challenged pupils who conducts a small classroom of one, two, or three students for the day's Hebrew instruction. Then these children join with children from other classes for a music session, followed by a session in Bible, holiday or special activity.
